Personalised products and their packaging have been an efficient marketing tool since before yesterday. Companies have also recognised the benefits and possibilities of this individual customer approach. Product packaging can be adapted to meet specific customer expectations and appeal directly to the consumer, thus arousing emotions. Individual and personalised packaging is ideal as a customer gift, for invitations, competitions, limited editions or even for trade fairs.

Types of personalisation

Thanks to digital printing, solid board packaging can be personalised in a variety of ways. We are happy to present the most common methods:

Name personalisation

Probably the best-known form of personalisation is name personalisation. The customer’s name is printed on every outer packaging. Emotions are aroused and promote trust and the bond between company and customer. To implement the printing of different names, we simply need a list of all names from which we generate the personalised packaging.

HP Mosaic personalisation

DUsing HP Mosaic, you can create limitless design variations with just one master file and one pattern, making every package unique. The central element of HP Mosaic is the pattern. Many individual image sections are automatically generated from the pattern. A master file and a vector graphic (the pattern) are joined together. The graphic is then varied by rotation, image section, zoom or colour change to create ever new patterns. This creates countless different packaging designs, none of which is the same as the other. Image personalisation

With image personalisation, different motifs can be printed on the packaging. All we need for this are high-resolution, printable images with a resolution of 300 dpi and a corresponding list in which the image names are listed.

The eye catcher

To make the outer packaging a real highlight, personalisation can of course also be combined with other techniques such as hot foil finishing or embossing. You can also choose any cardboard material from our range.

Our customer story

For Ritter Sport, we were able to implement a very personal campaign in December 2020. To celebrate 100,000 Instagram subscribers, the chocolate manufacturer gave away personalised cocoa treats to its followers. The individual envelopes were produced by us in the Black Forest and the prizes were packaged and sent by us.
