Seven young talents have started their apprenticeships with us with a varied induction week. From 1 to 4 September, the programme included getting to know the company, taking part in joint activities and learning important basics for their day-to-day working life.
Welcome to the team
At the start of their apprenticeships, our Head of Human Resources and the company shareholders welcomed the new apprentices. This year, one industrial management assistant, one digital and print media designer, three packaging technologists and two print media technologists are starting their careers at colordruck Baiersbronn.
A tour of the company provided initial insights into our various departments and the production of packaging. The new apprentices also received important information about working hours, holidays, their training records, vocational school and other organisational topics.
Working together and growing as a team
The second day combined sustainability with team building. Together with BUND Freudenstadt, the apprentices took part in a conservation project on a meadow in Freudenstadt and helped to create a dead hedge, also known as a Benjes hedge. In the afternoon, they headed off for a round of adventure golf with their apprentice mentors. The focus was on getting to know each other and exchanging ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Well prepared for working life
On the third day, the new apprentices joined several colleagues for a first aid course run by the German Red Cross. In addition to theoretical basics, they learned practical skills to help them respond appropriately in emergency situations.
The induction week concluded with an apprentice kick-off workshop led by an external trainer. Topics included the rights and responsibilities associated with an apprenticeship as well as professional conduct in the workplace. This brought a varied induction week to a close – and marked the beginning of a new chapter for our seven new apprentices.
