Our long-standing logistics partner, transport company Fahrner, is switching the regional shuttle service for colordruck Baiersbronn to electric power. The vehicles transport paperboard and finished packaging between Freudenstadt, Baiersbronn and Dornstetten, covering around 45,000 kilometres a year.
Established routes, new power
Fahrner has handled transport and logistics for us for decades. Scheduled trips, well-established processes and nearby locations make the company a reliable partner for our production and dispatch operations.
The shuttle follows a regular circuit: it collects paperboard from the warehouse in Freudenstadt and delivers it to our plant in Baiersbronn for packaging production. It then picks up finished packaging and transports it to the distribution warehouse in Dornstetten. After unloading, it returns to Freudenstadt.
Around six trips a day connect the three locations. This established process remains in place as the shuttle switches to electric power.
Fahrner invests in its electric fleet
The transport company has purchased two new DAF XF Electric tractor units, expanding its existing electric fleet. Fahrner deploys electric vehicles specifically where route characteristics and infrastructure are suitable. This now includes the regional shuttle service it operates for us.
The trucks are battery-powered and produce no exhaust emissions while driving.
Our logistics partner’s investment introduces new drive technology into the existing shuttle service. It combines established transport processes between the paperboard warehouse, production plant and distribution warehouse with battery-powered vehicles.
We congratulate our long-standing partner Fahrner on expanding its electric fleet and look forward to welcoming the new electric trucks to our premises in Baiersbronn from now on.
