colordruck Baiersbronn took part in Baden-Württemberg’s 11th Sustainability Days this year with a specially organised Sustainability Week.
From 18 to 22 September, our sustainability managers enthusiastically organised our own sustainability week. This week was full of inspiring actions to encourage us to deepen our commitment to a more sustainable future. All actions were aimed at the twelve SDGs.
Regional food market
So on the first day, we started with a regional food market, which opened already in the morning in our canteen. At this market, we had the privilege of presenting food producers and sellers from our region. Our employees had the opportunity to enjoy delicious samples and learn about the importance of regionally and seasonally produced food. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Hofmarkt Riegraf, Seidtenhof, Bohnet Hof Musbach, Milchviehbetrieb Faisst and Lochdavidshof from Baiersbronn for their participation in the event as well as the samples they provided! This day was an important step towards promoting SDG 2 (Goal 2: No Hunger).
Upcycling
On the second day, the “Upcycling Day” was the focus of our sustainability week (SDG 12 – Sustainable Consumption and Production). We offered an inspiring course on upcycling old clothes. Together we tried out batik techniques and even created bags from old T-shirts. Our staff brought their white clothes that they wanted to upcycle. In addition, we provided old colordruck T-shirts to make bags out of.
Building an insect shelter
The third day was of special importance as we built an insect shelter in cooperation with BUND Nordschwarzwald (SDG 15 – Life on Land). Before we set to work, we were sensitised by a fascinating lecture by Patrick Maier, the managing director of BUND Nordschwarzwald, about insect mortality and its impact on our climate.
Plant exchange market
On the fourth day, we transformed our premises into a plant exchange market (SDG 13 – climate protection measures). Beforehand, our employees had handed in plant cuttings, seedlings and everything about plants and gardening to our dedicated sustainability managers. On the day itself, these treasures were put up and everyone could take cuttings and the like home to create their own green paradise.
Health Day
Another highlight of our week was the Health Day (SDG 3 – Health and Wellbeing) on the fifth day. We offered a series of online lectures with valuable health tips and set up a wheel of fortune that brought a smile to everyone’s face. There were fascia rollers, vouchers, smoothies and much more to be won. In addition, we had the pleasure of welcoming an expert from the AOK Baden-Württemberg to our premises, who offered a back fitness course.
We would like to thank all employees who actively participated in our Sustainability Week. Your enthusiasm and commitment made this week a success. Special thanks go to our dedicated sustainability managers who organised and coordinated this week. You are an indispensable driving force for positive change in our company and beyond. Together we can make the world a little more sustainable.
