The packaging project, developed in collaboration with bloomwood Naturkosmetik and the FOLBB Group, has been shortlisted for the 2026 European Carton Excellence Award. The public can vote for the submission through August 24.
European Award for Cardboard Packaging
The European Carton Excellence Award is one of the most prestigious European awards for cardboard packaging. The competition is organized by Pro Carton, the European association for the cardboard and folding carton industry, and the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA). Prämiert werden Verpackungslösungen, die unter anderem durch Gestaltung, Konstruktion, Produktionstechnik, Wirtschaftlichkeit, Nachhaltigkeit und Innovation überzeugen. The awards recognize packaging solutions that stand out for their design, construction, production technology, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and innovation, among other criteria. The entry from colordruck Baiersbronn is competing in the “Beauty & Cosmetics” category.
Four packages, one shared story
The submitted packaging system consists of four folding boxes for soap, serum, day cream, and night cream from bloomwood Naturkosmetik. Each package is precisely tailored to the respective product and combines the natural look and feel of the materials with a unique opening experience.
Once the perforation is torn open, the folding box opens like a book. Inside, botanical illustrations and product information continue the brand’s story. The design is by Studio Nadir, and the hand-drawn illustrations are by Alix Art
Produced locally and tailored to demand
Produziert werden die Faltschachteln im Digitaldruck und über die Rotationsstanze. Für die erstmalige Umsetzung waren einmalige Anschaffungskosten erforderlich. Künftige Bestellungen können jedoch ohne weitere Fixkosten und ohne Mindestabnahmemenge produziert werden. So lassen sich die Verpackungsmengen flexibel an den tatsächlichen Bedarf anpassen und unnötige Lagerbestände sowie Überproduktion vermeiden.
Auch die Lieferkette bleibt bewusst kurz: bloomwood Naturkosmetik, die FOLBB Group als Kartonhersteller und wir, colordruck Baiersbronn als Verpackungsproduzent befinden sich in Baden-Württemberg innerhalb eines Radius von weniger als 80 Kilometern. Zum Einsatz kommt ein 275 g/m² starker Frischfaserkarton, dessen ungestrichene Seite die sichtbare Außenseite der Faltschachteln bildet.
We also make a conscious effort to keep the supply chain short: bloomwood Naturkosmetik, the FOLBB Group as the cardboard manufacturer, and we, colordruck Baiersbronn as the packaging producer, are all located in Baden-Württemberg within a radius of less than 80 kilometers. We use 275 g/m² virgin fiber cardboard, with its uncoated side forming the visible exterior of the folding boxes.
