Following the successful project in 2023, the collaboration between colordruck Baiersbronn, Heinrich-Schickhardt-Schule (HSS) in Freudenstadt and Eichenäcker-Schule in Dornstetten continued in 2025. Once again, the focus was on wood, particularly repurposing used single-use wooden pallets.

At colordruck Baiersbronn, single-use wooden pallets regularly become available after use. They are normally processed into wood chips and used to generate heat. If the temporary storage silo is full, they are disposed of. For the school project, Heinrich-Schickhardt-Schule once again collected pallets this year and transported them to Freudenstadt. Together with pupils from Eichenäcker-Schule in Dornstetten, the wood was put to a new use.

The pupils at Eichenäcker-Schule, a special education and support centre focusing on intellectual development, dried the wooden pallets, separated them by material and stored the individual components for further processing. With great care and creativity, they crafted a lovingly designed Easter decoration this year: a solid wood base supports an intricately cut-out rabbit, securely attached with a wooden dowel.

The project demonstrates how used pallet wood can be repurposed. It gave the pupils an opportunity to apply their practical skills and create something new from existing materials. The collaboration brings businesses and schools together through a shared, hands-on project. We are delighted that our pallet wood has been transformed into creative Easter decorations and that the partnership continued in 2025.
