As a responsible company that describes its value proposition as ‘sustainability’, we have a special commitment to nature. We recognise our duty and are protecting nature by combining environmentally friendly business with sustainable production.<\/p>\n

Cardboard is one of the most environmentally friendly packaging materials of all. We use cardboard made from recycled material as well as primary-fibre cardboard \u2013 including from responsibly managed forests, if required. Cardboard packaging can also be fed into the recycling process without any problems.<\/p>\n

Since February 2019, a photovoltaic system with a total of 320 solar modules has been converting solar energy into electricity. The individual power per 60-cell monocrystalline high-power current module is 300 Wp, and the total power is 96 kWp.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Climate-neutral production machines<\/h2><\/div>

Before we install new machines, we also check their environmental aspects. All of our production facilities installed from 2010 onwards are climate-neutral. Independent climate-protection organisations confirm our CO2 compensation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Since 2011, we have consciously obtained 100% of our electricity from renewable energy sources. This means we reduce our environmental impact by around 2,300 tonnes of CO2 every year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We feed our sprinkler pool with water from the River Murg. The total volume is around 700 m\u00b3 of water, which we use as a cold-storage tank and to cool our production halls. This reduces our environmental impact by around 70 tonnes of CO2 per year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We receive our main raw material, cardboard, on disposable wooden pallets. Since 2002, we have been using these for energy recovery after delivery. Compared to fossil fuels, then, we are reducing emissions by 85% and reducing our environmental impact by around 270 tonnes of CO2 per year. Our wood-chip plant generates approx. 1,375,545 kWh of heat energy per year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

colordruck Baiersbronn has successfully completed the validation of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This makes us one of over 7,300 companies worldwide that have committed to science-based climate targets.<\/p>\n

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an internationally recognized organization that helps companies to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions in line with the latest scientific findings. A rigorous verification process is used to check whether the climate targets set are ambitious, realistic and scientifically sound. This validation increases the transparency and credibility of climate protection measures.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

At colordruck Baiersbronn, we have set ourselves ambitious, clearly defined climate targets:<\/p>\n

Reduction of absolute greenhouse gas emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 51% by 2032 compared to the base year 2022.
\nInvolvement of our suppliers: 90% of our suppliers (by share of emissions) are to set science-based climate targets by 2029.
\nThese targets include not only direct emissions from our operations, but also indirect emissions from purchased goods, services and transportation and distribution processes. We also take into account land-related emissions and withdrawals from bio-based energy sources.<\/p>\n<\/div>
